Another exercise related post - HIT this morning was very hard work but very satisfying. I managed to sprint properly this time after being less than 100% for the last two and held my own I think.
Unsuccessful charity shop trawl in search of a costume but I'm sorted now - thank you to those who offered help and encouragement!
Touchwood this afternoon and the obligatory Joe and the Juice visit :)
Curry for tea :)))
And I'm on track with my German and Swedish Duolingo!

New funky boots (they're purple although they look red here!)

And another delivery - my @lisibo stickers have arrived ready to apply to any conference badge. It'll help people recognise me I hope without me having to permanently wear a kilt, red tam o' shanter and pigtails.

Auditioning y6 for a talent show was fun - very brave kids singing, performing magic and delivering one liners in front of their classmates and submitting themselves to a vote. Can't stop singing Titanium now though!

And sunshine. So beautiful. Jealous of those who can see the Aurora but I enjoyed the sunshine!

Being flat on my back with my back/hip in spasm and quite painful isn't going to stop me finding something to make me smile!

I've been looked after by my boys. Cups of tea with straws, liquorice bars appearing on my pillow as I snoozed, 'keeping me company' in shifts and flowers delivered to by the bed where I am currently stuck.

Norwegian curling trousers are very smile inducing too.

As was the Olympic spirit of Dario Cologna winning gold but insisting on waiting for the last man to finish so that he could shake his hand.

A lovely moon too.

And solving the mystery of how Clumsy Ninjas images kept appearing on my Facebook page also made me smile. Cheeky Harry!

Here's to more smiles and less discomfort tomorrow!

Knobs, dongles and Gove pincushions.
Ukeleles, mini books and phonic raps. Batalla de cojos, green suede heels and great friends.

All good reasons to smile on a rainy day!

I donned my WPS house Tshirt on returning home from work at WCPS.
I wish to put in for a transfer to Watt or Murdoch or even Boulton.
I am simply not wide enough to display the whole name of my team.
Still, it has my name on the back which is rather nice. And it fits!

See girls - I told you I had a milk jug!
I have just found it hidden amongst all the ornaments we put in storage! It's now reunited with the rest of my tea set.

And this may look unexciting to you, but the return of this filing cabinet has filled me with great joy as it holds all my flash cards, worksheets and other resources I've made, and I haven't seen it since September 2011.

I also managed to get Mum's sewing machine working and shortened two pairs of Jude's trousers. That was stressful but it made me smile to think that, for all lack of domesticity, I'm the only one who can thread the sewing machine! Thank you Mrs Cunliffe!

Smile 100:365

My Achilles is not happy at the moment so I put on some socks to make me smile about my feet. My MiL bought these for my Christmas a few years ago and, whilst I rarely wear them as they are really not me, they always make me smile. Why? Because Mu had no idea what Twitter was when she bought them, nor did she know what a Twitter-er I am. And they are sort of twee!
It was Day of Pink at ISW today; an anti-bullying celebration that comes from Canada apparently. Everyone had to wear pink, and two girls decided to bring in their pony and let people who were suitably attired ride it. Of course the pony - who was very very patient - was kitted out in pink too!

Finally,  I made the rest of my family smile by asking where the thunder cable for iPad Mini had gone. "Call yourself an ADE!" they thought!

Having made it to 100 and run out of languages for which I can find out how to say 'a smile', tomorrow I will start a new language series.

The sun is shining! No boots today! I've put my FiveFingers on and drawn a few odd looks. No one has refused to speak to me however which has happened in the playground before when someone was so freaked out by my shoes that they couldn't even stand near me if I wore them!

An update to Icomania had Jude wide awake before school this morning (normally doesn't fully wake until we're on the bus!) We make a good team - he's great with brand names and I'm good at "old" movie stars.

Other things that made me smile today
I was told that I could join the Kindergarten class if I gave them cookies and ice cream, and wore purple or pink.
Walking in the sunshine.
A crate of strawberries from Coop.
John's home from Denmark.
The boys have two weeks off school.

Jude spotted these Gagnam Style Häsli today in Bachmann as we bought lunch today. Just one of many cute Easter bunnies. (Like the look of the Percy Pig Easter pig with 100s and 1000s shorts I saw in the M&S letter that arrived today!)

We visited the Verkehrshaus / Swiss Transport Museum today in Luzern. I took so many pictures but this is one of my favourites!
Btw, NOB = Nord-Ost Bahn ;o)

Other things that made me smile
Being able to choose between catching a bus or boat to the Museum - we went for the boat on the way and the bus back - for the same price!
Watching the boys' faces on a screen as John 'flew' them in a flight simulator.
Going out in shoes and NO SOCKS!

Jude has wanted a Raiffeisen/SwissSki bobble hat since I ran the Silvesterlauf and he saw a group of children wearing them. He then saw people wearing them on TV at Wengen, watching the ski race. Today he finally got one as the bus down the hill to Amden stops outside the Raiffeisen bank. Whilst John was extracting cash from the cash point I went inside and discovered that you could buy the bobble hats over the counter! Great joy and jubilation when I returned with the prize!!

Smiles this morning too as I had my first ski lesson - and I wasn't as bad as I had feared. I did fall over but not as many times as I had feared, and I have been up two mountains, by drag lift and on a dreaded chairlift - and I survived. And I also made it back down them under my own steam - with lots of patience from my instructor who held my poles to guide me at regular intervals and to stop me flying over the edge!
Smiled broadly when I had a sudden flashback to #ililc2 and Tchic Tchac with Jo Rhys-Jones :) then promptly fell over as I lost concentration :S

Things I heard that made me smile today
Jude asked if we could listen to John's iPod music "cos he's got that album with Slade and Dinosaur on it"
On returning from our bus ride to fetch provisions, John and I were greeted by the boys who looked distraught about something. We feared an accident or something broken. Turned out to be a dirty cuddly toy as Jude picked it up with the fire tongs!
Still giggling over the Manx knobs :)

Smiles 30:365

Isaac has new glasses and looks great in them. They were only ordered on Saturday as well which, given Isaac's prescription and the fact that they were actually ready yesterday, is very fast! The shadow in this picture also made me smile - can't hide that unruly tuft! ;o)

Several items on The One Show made me smile today -
Dodger the dog showing emotions much better than the actors!
The Springer Spaniel feeding the lamb with a bottle.
Alistair McGowan's item on accents, visiting Nottingham, Tamworth and Birmingham.

I also smiled when Jude, on a sick day trawl through the channels for something to watch, discovered Frasier and announced 'He's much older in this than in Cheers!'

And I received notice of the Winterthur Marathon ;o)

Smiles 11:365

Thank you to my friend - and fellow ISW mum - Lisa for bringing me lemon drizzle cake. Her cake, scones and other baked things always make me smile, and last year she made a homesick girl very happy by providing the best mince pie I've ever eaten! Today she also reported that I've been missed at school this week - which is nice!

Things I heard today that made me smile
During Writers Workshop in KG this week, a child asked for a stretchy sock. I was intrigued as to why that would help them with their writing. The 6 year old explained that they used it to stretch words and help them write them. cat is stretched to c-a-t and so on.
Today I wore long stripey socks and a child said 'we could stretch very long words with your socks, Mrs S!' So we did!
