Sunshine in the garden reading a book (finished it too)

Lunch at The Pear Tree Creperie - delicious!

Boy smiles - Jude made us smile suggesting someone might be taking a leap year before going to Uni. We knew what he meant!

Cycling smiles - Cav won the final stage of Tour of California - but only just as he celebrated as he approached the line and was nearly caught. And Wiggo won the whole thing.

Shopping smiles - a SeaSalt sale shop proved too exciting to resist although I wish I'd found it before my size was virtually sold out - or that I could fit in an 8!

Today is St George's Day, and in Catalunya it's San Jordi when women are given red roses and men, a book. I love roses but I'd rather have a book. Or perhaps both?
Anyway, I bought the boys a book each and they were happy!

Things that made me smile today -
I survived another day without going mad!
I finished a piece of work for BBC - I've been singing about being loco ever since!
The boys and their antics made me guffaw at points today - they certainly have great senses of humour.
The bluebells are out in the garden. Didn't get out to take a picture though as my back was too sore from crutches. perhaps tomorrow!

Huge smile as I went to the hairdressers and I have clean, cut, coloured hair. Hurrah! Thank you Simon!
Jude finally surfaced around 11am loping bleary eyed; the boy likes his sleep and getting to bed at 1.30am thanks to Eurostar didn't go down well! Good to have him back and give him a cuddle though.
More sunshine and reading in the garden, and some tidying too; the dining room needs reclaiming from under piles of school stuff. A slow process as I can't carry much (even in a shoulder bag/rucksack) without over balancing but it'll get done eventually.

PS fancy a 'Happy' challenge?

A lovely sunny day reading in the garden - except when I had to come indoors to avoid burning!
John came home from Switzerland and promptly starting destroying things.
And I found a new use for my massage roller.
Fracture clinic tomorrow...

A beautiful moon - sadly the picture doesn't do it justice!
A sunny day.
Several things on my to do list achieved.
Stayed upright on my crutches.

MoreSmiles 102:365

Lots of jobs done today. New blinds and curtains for Jude, tidy drawers and 'too small' clothes discarded, emergency new undies, and a new pillow for John.

Maurice has arrived home safely and sent a lovely message - as has his Mum.

And ponies in the park. I saw them yesterday but forgot the picture in my post-Maurice moroseness.
Curry and Prosecco for tea.
The boys only threatened to have me put away once today. Which is an improvement.
And the sun shone.

I've got Sprüngli chocolates!
#smileygirl

A good run this morning, the arrival of a replacement UP band, sunshine and the end of a looong week all made me smile too!

Curling tights. Come on GB! (Silver isn't too shoddy!)

A good day speaking to and talking with PGCE students at Leicester University about technology.
Delicious lunch too!

And Prosecco for tea.

Thanks to John Sutton for the chocolate; no need as I can't even recall what you said last week ;)

And sun is always very welcome and smile-making!

A beautiful sunrise.

Isaac made lamb koftas for dinner - delicious!

I enjoyed teaching ICT just about all day even when I was teaching Spanish! And I enjoyed the smiles on children's faces; I know something's going right if there are smiles even when it's tricky.

Hula hooping in my assembly made me smile - I wasn't very good but a Year 4 boy was brilliant!

Looking forward to watching Les Mis on the way home from York tomorrow.

And John came home - whoop!!

My Narnia lamppost. I miss it! Thanks to the Pickups I got a Christmas card to remind me, and this was taken on this day last year.
Made me smile thinking of it though!

Smiles today as we shared cracker jokes and watched TV.  Jude made us all smile with his annoyance at the ending of The Italian Job - "I'll be awake all night wondering about what happened!" And the sunshine on my run made me smile too.

Smiles 360:365

Isaac's turbo is finally up and running. The boys had great fun, especially Isaac.

The 12 days of Christmas is back! Day 1 saw us playing a board game. We failed to catch Mister X (Isaac) -  but it was very close!

Boxing Day saw plenty of reading, a new pair of boots and some funky tights, and a run in the sunshine. Lots of smiles there!

Smiles 325:365

John's beautiful photograph of a Copenhagen sunset today.

Smiles at the Year 5 and 6 cross country this afternoon - loud and overexcited kids, and mud! Hope the drama turns out not to be as dramatic as it looked though.

Isaac came home with a brilliant report with teachers questioning the wisdom of Fischer Family Trust predictions - and that always makes me smile!

Smiles 323:365

I liked this image - wish I'd found it before my Y3 lesson this afternoon, but it'll work well for y6 tomorrow.

An unintentional extra 40 minutes in bed today meant the day started more hectically than I'd have liked, but it was rather welcome!
The sun shone - always a winner!
Y4 enjoyed their Spanish lessons.
Some Y3 managed to listen and participate well in PE, and then made me smile by telling me I'm beautiful!
My dentist made me smile - although not very easy when you have a numb face - by continually reassuring me. I suspect he remembered my gagging fit last time I went and thought I was more nervous than I actually was. I'm fine as long as he doesn't shove anything too far back in my mouth.
The moon is shining brightly as I write - I can see the craters. Beautiful.
Looking forward to episode 1 of Borgen :)

Smiles 288:365

I still have a voice at the end of the day.
I didn't have constant battles with pencil case fiddling this afternoon - although I have now declared war on Tippex!
The sun was shining when I left school.
It was GBBO night.

All good reasons to smile.

And I have a lovely bunch of flowers too.

Beautiful Amden.
Last time I visited it was covered in snow and I learned to ski. Today it was bathed in sunshine and farmers were mowing all over the slopes. So many smiles today with special friends. Thank you Zoë, Andras, Lilian and Helena. Going to miss you all so much, especially my little girlies.

Fun on the trampoline.

Wallensee - beautiful lake but quite cold at first dip!

John trying to sop me splashing him!

Floating in the sunshine in the shadow of the mountains.

Collecting stones

Champagne at Mövenpick Wein Bar in Zürich with lisa Miranda and Yvette - 35CHF for champagne all evening and we certainly had our money's worth. Not sure where the time went as we arrived at 7 and we only left because they were shutting! We laughed a lot and plans are afoot to move ISW PA meetings to 'Champagne Night' in Zürich ;)

And an afternoon of crazy golf with the boys. Glorious sunshine and lots of fun navigating tunnels, humps, water features and zoo animals. Jude enjoyed sitting on various of the latter!

Smiles 170:365

This made me smile as it's so true!

As did this. I do prefer to smile. And I try to do so as much as possible which explains my "smile lines" ;o)

Thank goodness that the temperature was marginally more bearable today thanks to the thunderstorm last night. Nothing like a Swiss thunderstorm. A quick dip at the Badi helped us bear it too. (To think we were moaning it was too cold only a couple of weeks ago!)

Smiles 160:365

In spite of waking up deaf in one ear and having a headache that has been lingering for days, I have smiled pretty much all day. A fine day, a long run and time with my boys have kept me happy. And the words "From the mountains to the valleys, Hear our praises rise to you" were given new meaning as we sang them at church in Switzerland, land of majestic mountains and beautiful valleys.

Smiles 156:365

Thanks to Doug for today's picture! I like it when people find me pictures - it means that someone's reading this :o)

So, more smiles today -

Sunshine and a run = happiness!

Isaac went to the Sports Award evening and came home with a certificate for football.

Jude had a trumpet lesson - he's always so bouncy when he comes back, it's clear he's had a good time.

John came back from London where he's been for the last three days - and he brought teabags :o)

Smiles 148:365

After a drizzly start ("it won't rain until 5pm' said my usually very reliable weatherman!) the sun came out = :o)

And look what I nearly cycled over. It was playing dead - or may actually have been dead - and had disappeared by the time the boys came past later. Disappointing.

There was much smiling this evening as Jude told us about his 'boys only' lesson today. The conversation included talk of Speedos, rudders and sharks, and was unrepeatable but very funny.
