Another exercise related post - HIT this morning was very hard work but very satisfying. I managed to sprint properly this time after being less than 100% for the last two and held my own I think.
Unsuccessful charity shop trawl in search of a costume but I'm sorted now - thank you to those who offered help and encouragement!
Touchwood this afternoon and the obligatory Joe and the Juice visit :)
Curry for tea :)))
And I'm on track with my German and Swedish Duolingo!

A loooong day but a good one. Lots of marbles awarded and only 1 lost - an achievement for a Wednesday afternoon! I even had groans from some when I told them it was time to pack away, and that's not usual!
I had a laugh as I played pied piper to an assortment of children who needed picking up; I seemed to gather more as I walked along, starting with 4, losing 2 then ending up with 6 by the time we reached our destination. I'll take my recorder next week!
And we all ending up in hysterics in Isaac's room earlier whilst he was trying hard to do his homework; can't remember why we were there and what was so funny but I remember the laughing!

Six years ago today I posted this picture with the caption 'I'm surrounded my lazy men!'
Times have changed! Have to say that none of us have been on the WiiFit for ages but John cycles, Isaac cycles and rows and Jude goes to his spinning / exercise class every week as well as Boys Brigade so they're not so bad!

It amuses me that John had to wait until we moved back from Switzerland to get his Nespresso machine. He managed to 'break' the (not Nespresso) coffee machine I bought him . Mmm!
Still it is a thing of beauty so I bought him a pod holder to go with it.

Had to smile today when Runkeeper sent me an email saying
"It's been a while since we last saw you...Let's get you back out there!"
Yes, well. I would if I could!

Rediscovering a silly song that I composed to teach family members in Spanish made me smile today. Hope Y3 like it tomorrow!
PE INSET was amusing - smacking my face into the serving hatch wasn't exactly fun, but if anyone is going to have a mishap, it had to be me!
An obsession in Year 4 with putting a duck billed platypus into stories made me smile - in Spanish, it's un ornitorrinco btw!
Jude's trumpet playing also made me smile as did his reaction when I commented that I think he's grown.

Jude a year ago!

Half way through my working week - but two full days with break duties on both and an assembly to finish me off Thursday.

As I was stretching my hamstrings - very ineptly! - I thought of the above.
And I thought you'd like a smile at me doing it. The boys found it quite amusing at least!

The day had a few good bits like a tasty mocha and then core session, but by bedtime my smiles had dried up.
Still, I found one as I prepared for a talk tomorrow. Who wouldn't smile at a face like that?

Look what I've got! Thank you so much to my English/Swiss/Hungarian Easter bunnies who smuggled them in from Ireland!

Things that made me smile today
An Easter egg with H and L as well as Isaac and Jude - great muddy fun!
Learning how to play a game that involves hitting boiled eggs against each other, a bit like conkers! Looking on Wikipedia it's played in the North of England too, but we were taught the Swiss/Hungarian version! I didn't have a go but the boys all did - and the great thing is, you get to eat the hard boiled eggs once it's over. If you're really good, you can end up with a pile of eggs (you the win the egg if you smash it more than yours!)
The sun shone and we went for a bike ride. 9.5 miles - and Jude didn't complain once. Hurrah!
Curry for tea!

PS A great 'smile' related news item - you know how much I love recycling and this would be fun!

I've got new trainers! And a list of exercises to do to correct my poorly aligned legs, lack of balance and the defects with my feet! You don't just buy a product here - it comes with analysis and advice!

And today the sun has come out so I took my trainers for a little 'breaking in' run. Admittedly it was a shorter run than I'd normally do (3 miles) and I avoided most hills, but my average pace was 8.24min/mile which is much faster than I've been for ages and ages, possibly bettered only by the good old days when my Nike+ gave me ridiculous stats about my speed based on a stride that I never properly managed to calibrate! As I've been feeling that I've lost my running mojo, this made me smile very broadly.

Zumba this morning also made me smile - I tackle it with great enthusiasm but just can't master the 'sexy wiggle' bits. Still, it's great fun and good exercise.

(This made me smile as, when asked in my Spanish lessons "shall I write it in Spanish?" I usually reply "Well, Swahili would be nice but as we're learning Spanish, yes, that would make sense!")

Given my post earlier this week, this made me smile - a nice twist but not sure what Darcey would say?!

And as a linguist -and a Hispanist -  this amused me too!

High on my smile list was a Mexican birthday breakfast this morning. And afternoon as it carried on long after I had to leave at 12.45! A lovely time speaking Spanish and having a giggle!
More smiles for a successful book fair at school - great excitement amongst the children and some lovely books too. I sometimes think I'd love to live in a book shop!
And my boys as always made me smile with their shenanigans.

Having had an odd start to the day, I got myself back on track by doing Pilates with the lovely Darcey. That woman is freakily flexible but her feet are a mess. The pros and cons of being a ballet dancer I guess! Made me smile as I thought of my kind friends who saved the DVD from a Sunday newspaper for me.

THIS has had all of us - but especially the boys - smiling, guffawing and crying today.

Other things that made me smile today
Pancake day - nearly two weeks late!
The smell of fresh sheets.
The boys got a lift home so I didn't need to go out in the (extreme) cold again.
I managed to avoid witnessing the death of any penguins whilst watching Penguins-Spy in their midst.
