Today's photo is courtesy of Kathy who saw it in a window in Chipping Camden. Thanks!

And then there was Jude's pizza made in Food Tech - perfect if you don't like cheese!

MoreSmiles 114:365

Bluebells (and a yellow weed I think!) by my swinging bench. Too dangerous to approach on crutches if I value my other foot so I'll wait until I can weight bear before having a closer look.

Lovely tulips that I can see as John put them in front of the window!

And finally John sent morning greetings from Mexico.

MoreSmiles 87:365

A lovely day in London today, brightened by seeing old friends and by meeting new people who enjoyed my presentation, and also by this chap on the Tube who kept smiling and bantering in spite of everyone trying to avoid eye contact.

And these pics in Metro made me smile too.

If you want a smile, here's a link to a video of me in full flow being me ;)

Glad to get home it has to be said - so tired!

MoreSmiles 12:365

Another picture from yesterday as it's one of John's.
"Isaac atop hillock in a muddy squelchy field with moon and tree."

Today's smiles involved making biscuits, running (6 miles at nearing a decent pace) watching Sherlock and Liverpool winning 5-3 (and being on MOTD2 first so I'm not asleep and miss it!)

And clean sheets. I agree with the friend who put on FB the other week that they'd have clean linen every day if only they didn't have to wash and change it themselves!

Smiles 365:365

It's been a year of two halves - Swiss and English. Lots of smiles along the way - tears too or I wouldn't be human, but lots of smiles and laughs.

Happy New Year to you all and thank you to my lovely boys for providing so many of the smiles, many unrecorded.

I'll leave you with some of my favourite pictures from this year. But I'll be back tomorrow, by popular demand, with ...

MoreSmiles365!

And here's the link to all the photos from the year!

Smiles 351:365

Smiles today came through the haze of a splitting sinus headache. However, year3 DT making picture frames with lolly sticks, glitter, feathers and crepe paper didn't kill me despite the tears and tantrums so I doubt anything will today. You have to smile at times like these or you'd cry. One child burst into tears because she had a headache after 25 seconds of noise, failing to consider that her voice is the loudest of them all and is used incessantly. The irony!

The Plantsbrook Christmas concert was rather good, despite not being able to see Jude at all as he was right at the back and one of the littlest! Still, whilst there are no pictures, here are Boos containing all the orchestra/brass band pieces. http://audioboo.fm/boos/1803282

And today's photo?

Lisa at Christmas as a child. I have no recollection of the huge doll...!

Smiles 325:365

John's beautiful photograph of a Copenhagen sunset today.

Smiles at the Year 5 and 6 cross country this afternoon - loud and overexcited kids, and mud! Hope the drama turns out not to be as dramatic as it looked though.

Isaac came home with a brilliant report with teachers questioning the wisdom of Fischer Family Trust predictions - and that always makes me smile!

Smiles 310:365

Looking for a picture of me as a child at Christmas, I came across this one that my sister had uncovered a couple of years ago whilst make me a book for my (big) birthday.
She captioned it 'What's with the life size doll, Lisa?"
Quite!
I also question the length of my dress. And the wallpaper?!

Smiles 292:365

This is the most beautiful photograph (I didn't take it so thanks Viv!) After the (torrential) rain came the glorious sight of a double rainbow, brightening the grey sky and shining happily.

I'm also smiling (albeit somewhat wearily!) after the last 24 hours with colleagues from work - an unforgettable time, and only the beginning!

And from the sublime to the ridiculous - I have a new vacuum cleaner which also makes me smile as it's one of those that "follow you around" - although it's not called Henry, and it's not a robot one either!

Smiles 273:365

Small improvements on my usual Monday but progress nonetheless. I came home without a headache and I wasn't utterly exhausted.
Lots of smiles at school today, starting at 8.30am when the 4 kids in the playground tried to help me find interesting angles for photographs and laughed their socks off at me lying on the floor with my head through a tyre!
And Year 5 were impressed by my Swiss photographs - I did tell them it's easy to take a good picture when the scenery is that spectacular!
Home to a clean house - big big smile!
And I got a parcel from Little Linguist at school - goodies :D
Best of all, I managed to get a decent sound out of my cornet mouthpiece in Year4's brass lesson.

Things that made me smile today -

Looking through photos of Switzerland in 2003 - "Jude and the apple" is an all time classic
Showing Jude how to make a Wordle  - was worth the persuasion as he liked it as did his French teacher although she wasn't sure about his inclusion of Klingon as a language!
Isaac and Jude volunteering to help at Holiday Club without any prompting.
Another run - in the sunshine - longer than the last and still no ill effects.
A wave of people offering to vouch for my speaking skills - made me feel all warm inside!
And John's picture of me at Library of Birmingham - I don't look too bad!

Smiles 196:365

This made me chortle! Which is just as well as I'm starting to get a little "stressed" about the move. Still smiling however!

Smiles 140:365

Today's picture comes from Smile! Things that look like faces
Love the colour and the huuge smile!

Things that made me smile today

@nunferno on Twitter - a spoof of Dan Brown's Inferno. Had us all chortling loudly on the train to Flughafen today.

And then this infographic from Buzzfeed about how to become Dan Brown.

A very fast run after a slightly stressful afternoon.

Kind messages on Twitter and FB.

Good news that I can't share yet - but it made me smile :o)

The sight of a team on Only connect trying to find some mystical connection between pictures of the Teletubbies' antenna!

Smiles 137:365

Thanks to Doug for todays' 'smile'.
A very happy flower!

And to Innocent Smoothie for a happy rainbow!

Too tired for more today. I have smiled lots though. Not least recalling last night's antics!

Thanks to my dear friend Amy, I have lots of smiley photos! She sent me a tweet linking to a post called 21 Happy Faces Hiding in Your Stuff, and today's photo is from there.

I also liked the smiling tree and the postbox!

And thinking of Amy made me think of the SCBC Cabaret and how much fun it is and how much I miss it. And then I thought that I might be missing this one but Christmas... :o)

When taking a child's photo, you say Wo ist das Vögelchen? (Where's the birdie?) in German.

Smiles 109:365

I was looking through iPhoto and found this photo of this time last year when I was running the Dubendorflauf around a military airfield. That's me in pink under the wing of the Tante Ju! Arty isn't it?

Other things that made me smile today
Playing Where's the lizard? with M and M who devised increasingly ridiculous hiding places - but their knowledge of prepositions has improved!
HIGNFY used the photo of the fieldmouse I posted yesterday for their caption competition - suggestion was 'Celebrate Spring by tickling your bum with pollen'
Bake Sale after school on a rainy day.

Say cheese in other languages
In China, people say 茄子 (qiézi) - eggplant in Mandarin.

Smiles 93:365

This time last year (above) I was sunbathing in Konstanz - it's rather colder this year but I was still wearing my dungarees!

Lots of smiles today, not least this evening when I was interviewed by @EDUTalkr aka John and David for their weekly radio broadcast. Great to talk to them and great to share some ideas and thoughts about education, technology and creativity. I'm going to have to write something about it as I've now thought of so much more that I could have said and want to say! But not now as I have a good book to read, a bath run and a cup of chocolate Horlicks to drink.
Big smile!

Smiles 92:365

I love all the cute animals pictures that pop up on my FB/Twitter feeds and here are some of the ones that have caused Jude to utter the 'A' word -

"They're so ADORABLE!"
