MoreSmiles 4:365

This made me smile, in fact positively beam! I love it! Thank you @Ideas_Factory - you are so clever and very kind! All because I admired some other spoof stamps he'd made and said I'd like one of them(meaning the stamps he'd made not my own!)  Not sure about a legend but I try my best!

It's been a busy day with trips to fetch parcels, have coffee and visit the optician amongst other things. A new top in the Debenhams sale made me happy, as did a tasty toasted teacake. Finally submitting a form over which I've been slaving elicited a huge smile. Jude parading in his new PJs was very funny, as were Mr Mitchell and Mr Steer on Pointless (thank heavens they won!)
And I'm now rather engrossed in The Bridge which, although not making me smile at the content, is pleasing as I miss Borgen!

Smiles 365:365

It's been a year of two halves - Swiss and English. Lots of smiles along the way - tears too or I wouldn't be human, but lots of smiles and laughs.

Happy New Year to you all and thank you to my lovely boys for providing so many of the smiles, many unrecorded.

I'll leave you with some of my favourite pictures from this year. But I'll be back tomorrow, by popular demand, with ...

MoreSmiles365!

And here's the link to all the photos from the year!

Smiles 294:365

In need of help today with my smiling. Although someone has just driven past with a Peppa Pig bed strapped to the roof of their car...

This picture helped!

Smiles 230:365

My friend Claire shared this on FB with the following comment -
"Am sure this was written for our Belarussian girl Sasha"
Whilst I have never met her, I followed Sasha's visit (along with other children from Chernobyl) to Northallerton this summer and in every picture she had a bright smile whatever the time or occasion. And I know from following the blog that she has little about which to smile on a day to day basis.

Makes me all the more grateful for what I have and all the more determined to smile in the face of what, when all is said and done, are mostly annoying, temporary inconveniences in my life.

Although I may need to remind myself of this at 3am if I'm woken yet again by a teeth-grindingly-painful ache in my foot and leg...

Smiles 227:365

Fruit related smiles today!

John is back from USA and made me my "wake up" cup of tea before climbing into Isaac's bed for a snooze (I'd had a bad night so was finally comfortable spread across ours, snoozing!)
I've organised the 'coat cupboard' - how long that will last is anybody's guess!
Big smile every time it's painkiller time. Well, 20 minutes after that actually...
Lots of clever 18 year olds getting their exam results and posting excited messages on FB.
Realising that a new SIM in my phone means that I can start Sneezies all over again:o)

Smiles 222:365

That's me! Not a bad rendition although there was no plaster/airboot option. Not even a bandage.

Taxi rides galore today - I shall soon become an expert - and another jaunt around Sutton on a mobility scooter (so far no mishaps)
Reunited with some of my teaching resources from storage but I had to be selective and leave some behind until the next visit as we couldn't carry much. Jude was very pleased to be reunited with a green dragon called Dragee.
Waitrose curry is rather good. I think M&S may have lost my curry custom as their choice is more limited.
I successfully made some white school shirts white again! Very pleased with that!
Now time for sleep as John's off early tomorrow.

Smiles 187:365

Thanks to @pelado for today's image. Cute and very true. A smile transcends language barriers.

Smiles today as we looked in boxes we haven't unpacked since we got here - and discovered things we thought we'd lost or hadn't packed. Huge trip to MAAG only to then discard more stuff that will require another trip on Monday.

A trip to the Badi too - and I managed to find a sunbed. Hurrah! I'm sure I caused smiles as I tried to follow the sun though as John had chosen a space with lots of tall trees that pursued me at every turn with their shade!

Smiles 141:365

Focussing on the good things in life seems to be theme of the day.

A friend on FB shared a story of kindness on the Tube in London that makes him smile, and another friend shared this clip from Youtube.

And amongst all the carnage in Moore, this news report made me smile - and cry! Btw if you want to send a message of support to Moore and the surrounding area via Twitter, why not use #Moorehugs and look at Wes Fryer's post.

A picture from my Scoop it stream today (you can look at all the posts via the 'widget' on the right hand side of this blog.
For those of you that don't speak Spanish, it says 'Smiling is free. You should do it more often.'

May Day is a holiday in Winterthur so we had a family bike ride this afternoon to see the alpacas. The uphills were not popular with Jude and I but we enjoyed swooping down a hill towards the river!

And as we watched the football, Isaac once more commented that the name of Shakira and Gerard Piqué's son, Milan Piqué Mebarak, sounds just like festival. He has a point!

Say cheese in other languages
In German, you ask people to say Käsekuchen or cheesecake.
