I decided to tackle Cardiac Hill today on my run. Seemed a good idea at the time as I wanted to go in the park and needed to be out by 4 as it would be getting too dark by then. Unfortunately the wind was in my face much of the way and it was hard work. Just about to lose the ability to breath, I looked up and a pony appeared ahead of me, wandering across the road. As I got closer, his friend was munching nearby. The wild ponies that live in the park are very shy and I've never seen them there before so it was quite a surprise, but a pleasant one. Unfortunately I didn't have my 'phone with me so no picture but I took one in my head!
Other smiles today:
finding various small cuddly creatures hidden around the house.
becoming riveted by the darts final - never thought that would happen!
the smell of clean washing.
And finally incredulity at this snippet of Fox News - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwq8Bwr9wUg - turned to amusement at the hashtag #FoxNewsFacts on Twitter as people came up with other preposterous facts that Fox News may(or may not) have broadcast!

Today's smiles:
A lie in.
I made biscuits and everyone liked them.
Being deafened by husband and youngest as Tottenham scored five TES against Chelsea.
My nephew is here for a sleepover and enjoyed his dinner including 8 carrots!
Watching a film together.
Twitter conversations with people I haven't spoken to in ages.
A tidy desk!
And I know I've shared this already on my website but this comment from a 104 year old Spanish lady when talking about good and bad things in life strikes a chord -
"Lo importante es sencillamente eso - vivir."
(The most important is simply this - to live)

Jude made his first cake today - not bad given his teacher ;) and it was delicious.
The boys gave me a lovely necklace for Mothers Day and made me several cups of tea. And their cards were hilarious.
Liverpool won 4-0 (half the house are unamused by the result) and are top of the league.
And Jude's tweet a fortnight ago about a poster in M&S has been retweeted over 30 times this evening for some reason. Possibly helped by it being retweeted by Phil Willis from Radio5! Jude is very chuffed! (At time of publishing , 36 retweets and 11 favourites!)h

A lovely day in London today, brightened by seeing old friends and by meeting new people who enjoyed my presentation, and also by this chap on the Tube who kept smiling and bantering in spite of everyone trying to avoid eye contact.
If you want a smile, here's a link to a video of me in full flow being me ;)
Glad to get home it has to be said - so tired!

A hedgehog is not a normal sight at an educational (un)conference but Teachmeet is never predictable. And I managed to win a Hue webcam for my tweet about it:
A good time in Stafford earlier as I spoke at a conference; loved the enthusiasm of the teachers.
The sun shone as I drove to and from conferences today, and I wasn't locked on the car park at the NEC as I'd feared. Plus I didn't have to pay to park. Hurrah!

I love how my family make me laugh. Saturday lunchtime is usually a good time for giggles and the rugby gave us plenty of 'humour fodder' today, particularly when I started talking about Billy Sixtrees, unintentionally halving the size of the aforementioned gentleman's wood into a small copse. Incidentally I discovered when checking Wikipedia that Billy's dad is a tree surgeon. You couldn't really do much else with a name like that!
"This is why #m&s has lost the plot #hurtsmyeyes http://t.co/yvMDunvZFG"
...and Jude making amusing observations about the posters.

Spring has sprung. Let's hope it sticks around as I personally like the sunshine!
To escape the paint fumes, Isaac wrapped up in several jumpers and a hat and sat by the open back door. He then tried to watch TV from the garden but was thwarted by being unable to undo the window as there was no key and he couldn't hear. So he came in and sat on the window sill next to the other window that would open!
The ongoing adventures of Harold, Maude and friends recounted by Bev (who is stuck in hospital bless her) continue to amuse me, as did a discussion about how it would be do much better to be in hospital of your doctors were JD and Turk from Scrubs!
Liverpool won and are now 2nd in the Premier League.
The Fulham manager's glasses are rather amusing too.

Today is a good day for smiling.
Watching Winter Olympics in bed.
Improved back pain - still sore but not sharp.
Some mad skiing action as well as curling agony and ecstasy.
A walk to the shops with Jude, always good for a chat.
A beautifully written blog post by a friend about coming through a period of depression.
Lots of retweets of various things I've said or written.
Dinner at Pizza Express - delicious!
Silly songs at bedroom. My boys are hilarious!

I am so tired today that the little things have made me smile.
Loveheart sweets in the staff room to encourage us to spread the love to the children in Valentines week.
Mini book creation with y4 - 7/30 managed to cut the wrong bit. In the afternoon, one Y5 class managed to all make it correctly whilst the other had two 'casualties' but was complicated by the flow in and out if pupils for reading interventions.
John had made all the beds up again after we'd stripped them this morning.
It was suggested on Twitter that I'd be good on CBeebies.

Great Twitter banter about #ILILC4 lessened the post-BETT blues as did sunshine this afternoon and Sprüngli chocolates!
I ran 5 miles fairly quickly and planned some lessons in ultra quick time so I've done one of tomorrow's jobs this evening whilst watching TheJump and The Three Musketeers. I still have countless things to do though...
One thing at a time - and I have planned my wardrobe for #ILILC4 :)

Having not slept much last night and having to take down all the decorations and twinkly lights, I've been grateful today for cups of tea and kind words.
A hilarious conversation on Twitter about Tshirts, fashion and which colour suits which person made for light relief this afternoon, and a run cleared my head.
And this little lady (beautiful daughter of my stunningly beautiful goddaughter) put a huge smile on my face. Just the cutest in the panda suit we bought for her :)

Now I'm switching off and watching Sherlock. Night!

This made me smile, in fact positively beam! I love it! Thank you @Ideas_Factory - you are so clever and very kind! All because I admired some other spoof stamps he'd made and said I'd like one of them(meaning the stamps he'd made not my own!) Not sure about a legend but I try my best!
It's been a busy day with trips to fetch parcels, have coffee and visit the optician amongst other things. A new top in the Debenhams sale made me happy, as did a tasty toasted teacake. Finally submitting a form over which I've been slaving elicited a huge smile. Jude parading in his new PJs was very funny, as were Mr Mitchell and Mr Steer on Pointless (thank heavens they won!)
And I'm now rather engrossed in The Bridge which, although not making me smile at the content, is pleasing as I miss Borgen!

Also making me smile today is http://eyebombing.com courtesy of Dom McG. I may have to join in; just need some googley eyes!
Here's an example.
And then there was watching The Croods with the boys. Not the best film ever but some amusing parts!
I discovered that I had run further than the distance between my two homes last year (40 odd miles to spare!); I actually ran about as far as here to Copenhagen or exactly Vaduz in Liechtenstein.
Finally, it's good to know that others like my idea. Good luck @dimchurch!

Just come downstairs to find John ironing whilst watching Victoria Wood on TV. Oh the memories! If you were to ask my university friends about me, my Victoria Wood impressions would feature high on the list if things they'd say - along with my love of Winnie the Pooh and possibly a mention of a purple shell suit...
I can see the smiles as I was asked to recite another sketch - usually about Kimberley and raspberry yoghurts!
And then there was Accrington Stanley...
And then there was Accrington Stanley...
Also makes me smile today -
*a run in the rain that reminded me of running in the shadow of the Matterhorn in Zermatt.
*the return of EdTechRoundUp - and embarrassing myself as usual!
*Jude's rendition of songs he learned on camp about bananas, teapots and Superman.
*amusing exchanges on FB and Twitter.
Translation - There are always reasons to smile. Look for them!

Cards and gifts from family including chocolate, Prosecco, a Freitag purse, a new MBP, money and a panda onesie with matching slippers!
And lots of greetings from around the world on FB and Twitter. No idea why a photo of me nearly 2 years ago started getting attention but it made me smile to inspire discussion and debate about my 'look'!
Thank you everyone xx

Thanks to @pelado for today's image. Cute and very true. A smile transcends language barriers.
Smiles today as we looked in boxes we haven't unpacked since we got here - and discovered things we thought we'd lost or hadn't packed. Huge trip to MAAG only to then discard more stuff that will require another trip on Monday.
A trip to the Badi too - and I managed to find a sunbed. Hurrah! I'm sure I caused smiles as I tried to follow the sun though as John had chosen a space with lots of tall trees that pursued me at every turn with their shade!
