A day of talking animals and zoos, a fire drill at lunchtime thanks to someone's toast and lots of laminating whilst watching Broadchurch.

We went out for an 'we survived the first week back' meal this evening.
A little umbrella in my dessert made me smile - so twee!
I stuck two in my hair and Isaac told me I looked "like some weird umbrella rabbit".
When we left, Isaac got into the back of the car where Jude wanted to sit so, before Isaac even had time to make full contact with the seat, Jude cannonballed him over to the other side of the car, taking possession of the preferred seat.
Earlier in the day I went for a bike ride, smiling at a cat, a mouse (or rat - it ran across the path too quickly and it was quite dark!) a fox, five dogs and three swans.
And watching Would I lie to you? over lunch made us all laugh, especially Lee Mack and the spider, and David Mitchell and the goldfish.

Laughter therapy was... Fun!
Lots of smiling and laughing exercises. And an epic marshmallow battle that continued longer than Laughing John had intended, including into the relaxation phase; when we were supposed to be lying on the floor chilling, I was being pelted with marshmallows. Not sure if this was because I'd been chucking them previously or because I was next to the head teacher and was getting the fallout! Either way, it was great fun.
Water fight at the end of term I think!
Physio this afternoon - getting an appointment made me smile as did my pathetic attempt at balancing on one foot. The exercises did not make me smile as they made my ankle hurt. It's for my own good though!
HIGNFY had some classic lines tonight. And I'm looking forward to catching up with The Fast Show. I was upstairs having a bath and missed most of it.
And it's half term!

This was posted by my friend Fátima. An inspiring lady. I've never seen her without a smile on her face, whatever the circumstances, and she makes me smile. Huge hugs to you guapa xx
And this little chap is so cute!
I've finally finished planning a mammoth presentation - it's taken all week.
The sun shone at just the right time for me to sit and enjoy my lunch.
Isaac's y10 review meeting went really well and I managed to speak to the lovely Mr W without blushing ;)
I watched the last episode of Prey and John Simm was proved innocent. Hurrah!
And John will be home tomorrow.
(That's my husband not Mr Simm just to clarify) 😉

I've succumbed to finding a new 'hobby' whilst I am off work and, inspired by Erszi, I decided to try making elastic band bracelets. Great fun. Not sure what I'll do with them all but I'm hatching a plan and have ordered lots more bands as I've run out already! And I need 'better colours' ;)
Watching Eurovision with the boys - and Twitter - was hilarious. We literally fell off our chairs at points.
And a sudden random shout of 'fertile pastures' whilst I was cooking made us all cry with laughter.

Bluebells and a butterfly on a beautiful day spent writing (a post on my website) and reading (Pep Guardiola-another way of winning)
That's top of my smile list but also on the list:
Dry washing, dried on the line.
Curry for dinner.
Snuggles with my poorly little boy.
David Walliams' childhood game of lighthouses...
And this version of Happy with the Minions - especially the unicorn.

John is home! :0)
And he bought me some beautiful flowers. They smell delightful too.
Funny comments of the day:
"You can switch to HD if you want, Jude, but it won't improve the quality of the acts!"
"I've never heard the word 'deluge' before"
The long running saga of the glass.
And I smiled broadly at the reaction of the Norwich fans who, in response to chants of "you're going down" from MUFC fans, shouted "Liverpool!" and sang "You'll never walk alone". Class!

Thanks to Kathy for this card sent via FB. It made me smile!
As did sushi for tea (although the 'walk' on crutches nearly did me in!) It wasn't the hopping leg; it's carrying the injured foot as that airboot weighs a tonne! Still, it'll keep my thigh toned even if my calf wastes away.

An Isaac comment about duffle bags, thieves and Paddington Bear amused me this evening, and I enjoyed Only Connect, especially as I knew that Lisa was an early Apple computer!

Spring has sprung. Let's hope it sticks around as I personally like the sunshine!
To escape the paint fumes, Isaac wrapped up in several jumpers and a hat and sat by the open back door. He then tried to watch TV from the garden but was thwarted by being unable to undo the window as there was no key and he couldn't hear. So he came in and sat on the window sill next to the other window that would open!
The ongoing adventures of Harold, Maude and friends recounted by Bev (who is stuck in hospital bless her) continue to amuse me, as did a discussion about how it would be do much better to be in hospital of your doctors were JD and Turk from Scrubs!
Liverpool won and are now 2nd in the Premier League.
The Fulham manager's glasses are rather amusing too.

Two parcels today - new MOO cards and a new pair of boots!
Sewing Bee always makes me smile as I wouldn't have the first clue of what to do, although I'd love to be one of their models; I'd like to challenge them to make me a pair of trousers and accommodate my oddly sized calves! Which reminds me - I wonder who did end up with my purple boots?
A new book and a nearly early night!

I love laminating.
PS The ending of The Bridge did NOT make me smile.
And I love The Bridge.
Two reasons to be smiling on a Saturday night!
I had to smile when I retweeted something implying England had beaten France a moment too soon as France scored a try.
I bought new pink and green biros after I laundered the old ones. New stationery always makes me smile!

Great Twitter banter about #ILILC4 lessened the post-BETT blues as did sunshine this afternoon and Sprüngli chocolates!
I ran 5 miles fairly quickly and planned some lessons in ultra quick time so I've done one of tomorrow's jobs this evening whilst watching TheJump and The Three Musketeers. I still have countless things to do though...
One thing at a time - and I have planned my wardrobe for #ILILC4 :)

The squeals as we went over a hump backed bridge.
Giggles at the toilet humour you only get from teenage boys.
The ridiculous amount of clothing that Isaac was wearing for our shopping trip to Touchwood. He's been poorly, bless him!
Funny FB messages in other languages.
And it's The Bridge night. Saga's coming out with some great lines:
"I want to have sex"
'But my Mum's just through there'
"We can have sex here"
“I do like kids; I just don‘t like them just because they are kids” '
Do you like me?'
"I don't know you enough to know"

"I've never fecked something over a wall" says Dara O'Briain. (Feck means to throw apparently!)
The letters G O N A D and S appearing in succession. And then E X after that.
The anagram LUBEDONG.
Kathy Burke's inability to say 'consonant'
Jimmy Carr being replaced by a dog.
All reasons to smile caused by 8 out of 10 cats do Countdown.
And there was Prosecco too!

Kids do the funniest things!
This was last year at IPC - Benjamin inside the drum kit case, zipped in by his brother.
Some very earnest Y3s today made me smile with their attempts to help me, and the 'creative' spelling of some Y5s amused me no end.
GBBO does Sport Relief was on and made me smile as always, this time mainly because I could bake a better cake than most of the contestants!

Another picture from yesterday as it's one of John's.
"Isaac atop hillock in a muddy squelchy field with moon and tree."
Today's smiles involved making biscuits, running (6 miles at nearing a decent pace) watching Sherlock and Liverpool winning 5-3 (and being on MOTD2 first so I'm not asleep and miss it!)
And clean sheets. I agree with the friend who put on FB the other week that they'd have clean linen every day if only they didn't have to wash and change it themselves!

This made me smile, in fact positively beam! I love it! Thank you @Ideas_Factory - you are so clever and very kind! All because I admired some other spoof stamps he'd made and said I'd like one of them(meaning the stamps he'd made not my own!) Not sure about a legend but I try my best!
It's been a busy day with trips to fetch parcels, have coffee and visit the optician amongst other things. A new top in the Debenhams sale made me happy, as did a tasty toasted teacake. Finally submitting a form over which I've been slaving elicited a huge smile. Jude parading in his new PJs was very funny, as were Mr Mitchell and Mr Steer on Pointless (thank heavens they won!)
And I'm now rather engrossed in The Bridge which, although not making me smile at the content, is pleasing as I miss Borgen!

My Narnia lamppost. I miss it! Thanks to the Pickups I got a Christmas card to remind me, and this was taken on this day last year.
Made me smile thinking of it though!
Smiles today as we shared cracker jokes and watched TV. Jude made us all smile with his annoyance at the ending of The Italian Job - "I'll be awake all night wondering about what happened!" And the sunshine on my run made me smile too.

I still have a voice at the end of the day.
I didn't have constant battles with pencil case fiddling this afternoon - although I have now declared war on Tippex!
The sun was shining when I left school.
It was GBBO night.
All good reasons to smile.
And I have a lovely bunch of flowers too.

Toadstools in the garden. Pretty red and rather large...
And now obliterated thanks to Stevens and Stevens, Fungi Destroyers: armed only with sports equipment, they scythe all errant mushrooms in their path! You have to smile at their enthusiasm.
Teaching PE today was just like herding sheep, sheep with tennis rackets!
Class assembly rehearsal.
Looking at Jude's packed case for residential, and discovering that he has actually packed everything he needs!
Educating Yorkshire is on!
It's Thursday - no teaching tomorrow. (Still be working though!)
